Narrative
DEFIANCE, OH – A two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler seriously injured a man and child Tuesday in the northeast corner of Paulding County.
Police responded to the accident around 11:05 a.m. on US-24 near Township Road 143, which is on the western outskirts of Defiance, just east of Sherwood and Cecil.
The investigation indicates that a 2020 Honda Fit carrying a 35-year-old driver and and 8-year-old passenger rear-ended a 2007 Peterbilt semi carrying two occupants. Both vehicles were westbound on US-24 at the time of the accident.
Medics airlifted the man and child from the Honda with serious injuries to a hospital in Indiana.
Neither occupant in the 18-wheeler sustained injuries.
