Narrative
TOLEDO, OH – A 9-year-old boy from Holland Intermediate was hospitalized on Friday morning when a vehicle struck him as he attempted to cross a major roadway in west Toledo.
The accident happened sometime before 8:13 a.m. near the intersection of North McCord Road and Oakfield Drive, which is just west of I-475 and north of Hill Avenue.
The circumstances of the accident are unclear. Police say the boy may have been crossing McCord Drive when a southbound vehicle hit him. The boy sustained critical injuries.
Officials say the driver of the vehicle will not face charges at this time. A full investigation is underway.
